A study from Copenhagen University indicates that 13 out of 29 tested UV-filters may interfere with sperm cell function by mimicking a hormone that plays a pivotal role in the fertilization process. This adds to the scientific literature investigating EDCs (endocrine disrupting chemicals).

There's many reasons why you should go for a sunscreen with a mineral UV-filter, starting with the fact that they're safer for you and the ocean, protect you immediately and from a broader range of UVA and UVB rays. Plus, they don't necessarily turn you into a ghost anymore!

Hawaii passed a bill to ban two of the most hazardous chemicals used in sunscreens, oxybenzone and octinoxate. The bill was signed on the 3rd of June 2018, effectively banning sunscreens containing these chemicals from sales in Hawaii after January 1st, 2021.
